This is not an unethical supplication (begging), yet im in search of "Denatured Ethanol", which is now, technically, I L L E G A L, as in the case of The Great Sign & Seal of The State of California is concerned.
The same thing happened to a painter friend's stash on French lacquer, as it was reclassified & escalated as a dangerous VOC, yet needed, on occassion.
I canout heat / power / cut / melt / weld oxy-acetylene, yet not w/out fxn'l percolator in need of the correct fluid, & figured to ask regional garage & storage spaces for the interim few 100 mL I need, short of firing up a still, which is the longer term solution.
Got a few 100 mL on hand?
