To perform technical accounting in support of the accounting operations and fiscal services; to prepare and maintain various financial and statistical records and reports; be a resource person.
Preparation of a complete cycle of records and reports requiring the application of a substantial amount of technical terminology, organizational knowledge and understanding of laws, policies & procedures.
Responsible for accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll auditing and benefits.
Responsible for ensuring assigned tasks are completed within established time or reporting deadlines.
Work performed with limited supervision from CBO.
This position can be remote the majority of the time but will require at least one day a week at the physical school campus.
Education and Work Experience: Formal education or training that ensures the ability to read, write and perform mathematical calculations necessary for successful job performance.
Two years of college level course work in accounting or financial record keeping.
Two years of increasingly responsible experience in the review or maintenance of financial or statistical records for school related functions.
The hope is to move applicant to salaried CBO salary schedule after year one.
This salary schedule allows for Step 1 to 5 placement according to classified positions but might also allow for placement adjustment depending on years of school accounting experience.

75% (Since current CBO will be moving to Medicare effective 07/01/23, it might be possible to cover 100% of medical benefits).
Duties & Responsibilities: Maintains fiscal and accounting records and transactions related to accounts payable, accounts receivable, purchasing, petty cash, payroll and benefits including Staywell medical/Delta Dental benefits, side fund, sick leave/vacation, as well as STRS & PERS retirement as required and necessary Calculates, assembles, matches, sorts, codes, tabulates, reviews and posts a variety of financial and statistical data; compares, balances and reconciles forms, statements, records, reports and other financial documents to identify errors, resolve discrepancies, and assure accuracy and completeness; assures proper coding of financial data.
Verifies, balances and adjusts payroll, accounts receivable, accounts payable, petty cash; reviews, adjusts and assures accuracy of financial data, transactions, records, documents and reports related to assigned accounting areas; identifies errors and discrepancies; makes necessary corrections and adjustments.
Maintains permanent file system for appropriate materials; updates records, journals, ledgers and other documents related to assigned accounting and/or payroll auditing functions.
Collects, receives, and verifies information and posts, adjusts and/or transfers appropriate data to proper accounts, records, ledgers, etc.
Prepares and processes financial documents such as invoices, warrants, timesheets, purchase orders, travel claims, payments, district batches, voluntary deductions, billings, food service-fundraiser-retiree benefits monies, returned checks, deposits, cancellations, accounts payable requests, stop payments and change requests, all for review for accuracy of calculations.
Provides information to assist regarding routine or specialized accounting and fiscal procedures.
Inputs, updates and extracts financial and statistical data in an assigned computer system; generates necessary fiscal reports, warrants, lists, correspondence, forms and other computerized documents as required.
Operates current equipment such as a calculator, copier, fax, computer and assigned software.
Establishes and/or maintains journals, ledgers, records and/or worksheets to provide full documentation for related fiscal record-keeping systems such as payroll auditing, accounts payable, accounts receivable and benefits.
Is prepared to present all records for annual audit.
Acts as a resource person for district personnel, County Office employees, outside agencies and the general public, explaining procedures and processes of assigned activities; responds to various accounting questions and resolves problems.
