MCHC's Hillside Health Center in Ukiah, CA is seeking a detail-oriented and personable Lead Sterilization Technician to join our team! The Lead Sterilization Technician will be responsible for overseeing sterilization procedures at all MCHC sites.
This includes maintaining equipment, researching and updating procedures, and ensuring compliance with CDC and State oversight department recommendations.
As a Lead Sterilization Technician, you will regularly evaluate procedures for potential improvement and stay current with recommended infection control processes.

Duties Include:
Demonstrates proficiency in all job duties listed in Sterilization Technician job description and be able to assess the competency of technicians and train to any areas needing further development.
Trains new personnel and maintains competency testing on existing personnel, ensuring all training is documented according to current MCHC protocols.
Demonstrates ability to maintain a high level of quality inspection of instruments, prior to distribution, for use with patients.
Ensures the sterilization process is complete.
Demonstrates a working plan for monitoring and maintaining the integrity of the sterilization process.
Coordinates with the Lead RDA’s at each site for coverage in sterilization.
Supervises all sterilization staff at all MCHC sites and completes all required staff evaluations, in a timely manner.
Participates in the screening, interviewing, and onboarding of newly hired technicians.
Travels to all sites, as needed, to oversee sterile operations, perform required inspections (ERS, logs, etc.
), and mentor/train/supervise Sterilization staff.
Performs additional duties as assigned

Requirements:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
One or more years’ experience in sterilization
Certified in California as a Sterilization Technician
Maintain current California Driver’s license and provide proof of automobile insurance
