As an Infection Preventionist, you will play a pivotal role in supporting this mission by coordinating and implementing infection control measures that safeguard both our patients and dedicated employees.
Primary Job Duties Include:
Organizes and leads regularly scheduled meetings once every three months for the Infection Control Committee to review the Infection Control policies and procedures, surveillance data, and any Infection Control related problems or issues.
Responsible for setting agenda and preparing minutes of the Infection Control Committee meetings.
Maintains minutes of Infection Control meetings on file and distributes them when requested.
As needed, coordinates with Environmental Services Manager and Infection Control Committee to develop and implement best methods and processes for overall environmental procedures and products to prevent infection.
Responsible for direct communication with the COO, Director of Nursing, Chief Medical Officer, nursing and provider staff in implementation of Infection Control policies and procedures.
Writes, modifies, and recommends Policy and Procedure for ultimate approval from Administrative and Clinical Leadership related to the Infection Control Program at MCHC.
Organizes annual flu program for patients and staff and reports vaccine information to billing and county affiliates.
Consults on quality assurance in MCHC’s Sterilization Department.
Supervises and organizes the VFC (Vaccines for Children) and the General Vaccine (private and adult vaccine) programs.
Ensures all employee required vaccinations are administered upon new hire, annually, and updates as needed.
Keeps all employee data up to date.

Requirements:
Required Qualifications:
Valid State of California Certificate of Registration as a Licensed Vocational Nurse or Registered Nurse, with strong clinical nursing experience of at least two years.
Minimum of ICS 100/200/700 preferred.
Maintain current CPR certificate.
Knowledge of current Infection Control Practices and Procedures and Communicable Diseases.
Effective analytical, problem-solving and written/verbal communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to use MS Office (Word, Excel, Access) and the Clinic patient database management system.
