This is a temporary, non-continuing position.
The position is 8 hours per work for the duration of August 2024 to May 2025.
This position is open until filled.

SALARY AND BENEFITS This is a Short-Term Non-Continuing (STNC), temporary, hourly position, 8 hours per week, $19.
78 per hour; Ed Code 88003 authorizes a governing board to hire STNC employees for less than 75% of a school year, up to 180 days.

Paid Time Off: The successful candidate will earn forty (40) hours of sick leave per fiscal year.
Retirement: This position may be eligible for CalPERS Retirement (contingent upon number of hours worked within the fiscal year) REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES The successful candidate will support student and institutional success by executing the following duties: Provides instructional support to students during class and/or lab time Notifies students of additional services on campus; such as tutoring and other resources Assists faculty with material coordination and/or dispersion May assist with data entry May assist with set up of classroom materials and exhibits May assist students with computer usage or software Other duties as assigned Program Duties: Support instruction of welding classes held at Ukiah High School WORKING CONDITIONS Classroom setting; subject to moderate noise; frequent interruptions; frequent social interactions.
May lift up to 25 pounds.
QUALIFICATIONS Must meet Human Resources guidelines for qualified hiring; including by not limited to a Live Scan background check and completion of TB test.
Must have sufficient, appropriate subject matter expertise.
Education: High School Diploma/GED Equivalent required, AA preferred KNOWLEDGE OF: Specific curriculum and any equipment or tools, as appropriate to the classroom setting; Basic teaching and learning principles, study skills, and customer service skills; Appropriate language skills including usage, grammar, spelling, punctuation, vocabulary; Basic arithmetic; Interpersonal skills using tact, patience, and courtesy ABILITY TO: Demonstrate a sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural and ethnic backgrounds of stakeholders; Follow verbal and written directions; Follow through on assigned task; Conduct self in a professional manner; Abide by District policies and procedures; Ability to lift up to 25 pounds; Walk and/or stand for intermittent periods; Develop and maintain constructive relationship with students of diverse learning needs; Maintain accurate records; Help students identify problems and recommend solutions PHYSICAL ABLITY TO: Physical demands include: May lift up to 25 pounds.
