This includes the following duties and/or assignments: Teaching Instructs the full range of courses in the Registered Nursing Program curriculum which may intermediate and advanced med-surg nursing, leadership, seminar, pharmacology, and psychiatric nursing.
At this time, the program has a special need for faculty with medical-surgical, geriatric, and/or psychiatric/mental health nursing expertise; Educates in varied environments including the skills lab, simulation lab, clinical setting, online (using Canvas), and/or lecture environment for first year and/or second year nursing students; Maintains clinical competency with current practice and content expertise per the BRN requirements.
Direct patient care experience must be in the designated nursing area (medical-surgical, psychiatric/mental health, or geriatric) that the faculty will be assigned to teach; Arranges clinical experiences complying with agency requirements; Conducts classes and finals as included in the schedule of classes; prepares classroom presentations, student activities, and assignments; teaches class hours; evaluates student's performance based on quizzes, comprehensive examinations, finals and/or other assignments appropriate to the course outline; teaches courses in accordance with the description published in the catalog, the course outline, and the schedule of classes; prepares a syllabus for each course and distributes it to students at the first class meeting and/or electronically; Reports prepared and on time for classes; Posts and maintains student contact hours; Maintains current knowledge of the discipline and teaching practices; Prepares and submits accurate and timely student reports.
