REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES The successful candidate will support student success by providing instructional support and institutional collaboration.
This includes the following duties and/or assignments: QUALIFICATIONS Must meet all Minimum Qualifications Requirements for discipline applied for including: Master's in counseling, rehabilitation counseling, clinical psychology, counseling psychology, guidance counseling, educational counseling, social work, career development, marriage and family therapy or marriage, family and child counseling, OR the equivalent (NOTE: A bachelor's degree in one of the listed degrees and a license as a Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT) is an alternative qualification for this discipline.

Must meet Human Resources guidelines for qualified hiring; including by not limited to a Live Scan background check and completion of TB test.
KNOWLEDGE OF: Current theories of academic and/or mental health counseling, and related teaching practices; and familiarity with community college mission.
ABILITY TO: Counsels students considering career/technical programs or transfer to other colleges; assists them with educational plans.
Helps students become more knowledgeable about their aptitudes, interests, values, and achievement levels.
Assists students in planning their selection of courses.
Serves as liaison for the respective geographic feeder schools/agencies.
Stays current with transfer requirements of other colleges and career/technical training institutions.
Assists students with their special needs and problems; assists faculty, administrators, and staff in recognizing these needs.
Maintains regular and consistent contact with faculty members regarding student issues and concerns.
Acts as a resource person for faculty concerning the transfer process to a four-year college.
Provides intervention services for students such as early alert.
Assists in developing an effective Matriculation Program for new students Refers students who require more specialized counseling to appropriate agencies in the community.
